Sponsored Residential Services

What is sponsored residential services?

Sponsored residential services provide daily support to adults with developmental disabilities within the comfort of the family’s home.

This support should allow the individual to improve or maintain their current health status while also acquiring new skills within the home and community environment. Sponsors can expect Altruistic Life Services’ staff to provide oversight and support to prepare them to care for individuals living in their homes.

Placement Process

Sponsored Residential homes are required to meet the obligations of Altruistic Life Services and Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services (DBHDS) regulations. Altruistic Life Services provides support through consistent training, supervision, case management of the individual being served. As a Sponsor, you will be required to bring on at least one Back-up person to provide assistance within your home. Sponsors are welcome to bring on as many back-ups to as necessary to assist them.

Individuals in need of placement must have a primary diagnosis of developmental disability / intellectual disability, have an Community Living Waiver (CL Waiver) also known as DD Waiver, and able to be served behaviorally in a medically and in a safe manner. Altruistic Life Services requires individuals have an in person assessment and take part in a weekend stay with a prospective sponsored home(s). From there the individual and/or their family member(s) can make a decision.
